I am a professional photographer with over ten years experience. My passion for taking photographs started early, I would avidly devour photo albums, admiring the candid shots that showed the most emotion and the true images of the subjects. In high school and college I took several photography classes, fascinated by gritty, black and white images. Later, I began my career as a professional in the United States Air Force in 2005, working as a photojournalist in the Public Affairs Department. Then I worked as a civilian photographer at Dover Air Force Base, and was given the honor of photographing the somber Dignified Transfers. A dignified transfer is the process by which, upon the return from the theater of operations to the United States, the remains of fallen military members are transferred from the aircraft to a waiting vehicle and then to the port mortuary. There is more information about this sobering mission here: http://www.mortuary.af.mil/library/dignifiedtransfer/index.asp I moved to Washington D.C. to work at the Pentagon with the United States Marine Corps in their Combat Camera section. I led a team of photographers and we took various types of photographs, the most visible were of the Marine Corps Parades at Marine Barracks Washington, the home of the Commandant. I currently live, study, and work in Lincoln, England. I’m just finishing an MA in Photography. I absolutely adore the countryside, the local farms and shops, the rain, the flowers, and the rich history here. It’s so idyllic and charming, perfect for photographs! I love taking photos, capturing people’s true selves, showing them a side they’ve never seen.
