Visit Trentham Gardens all year round
Whether you’re looking for a garden with peace and quiet, or fun and action you will find a great day out here at Trentham.
The new-look gardens have matured into some of the finest in Britain, to be called by Alan Titchmarsh – no less – as “one of the UK’s must-see gardens”.
We are an award winning garden which in 2013 won the Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism Gold Award, in 2015 we were awarded a Gold Accolade by Visit England and in September 2010, the Gardens won one of the most prestigious European gardening awards, for the “Restoration, Enhancement or Development of a Historic Park or Garden”. What matters most of all is what our visitors think and we’re delighted that they voted us BBC Countryfile’s Garden of the Year 2015.
At the centre of Trentham Gardens is the mile long, Capability Brown designed, Trentham Lake. Take the circular lakeside walk all the way round as it takes you aside the River Trent, by the bird hide, through the cascading weir and along atmospheric woodland trails, featuring vast NEW meadows by Nigel Dunnett and the team who were responsible for the stunning wildflower plantings at the Olympic Park. These celebrate the centenary of Capability Brown with schemes chosen for seasonal interest and environmental suitability.
The show gardens offer further inspiration to gardeners on a more domestic scale.
Find the Fairies at Trentham
Everyone knows that fairies live at the bottom of gardens and Trentham Gardens is no different.
Keep your eyes peeled as you walk around our beautiful mile-long lake, and through the woodland, maze and gardens where the Fairies at Trentham live.
Titania points the way to her 14 fairy friends from the shopping village. Each fairy is different, some are bold and will want to shake your hand, others are shy and are harder to spot high up in the trees. Can you find them all?
A NEW fairy has flown in to Trentham Gardens to visit her fairy friends for the summer of 2016 only. “Anahi” loves searching for butterflies and her favourite fairy friend is “Spring”. You can find them both living on the Giant Dandelions.
The fairy trail is included in the price charged for garden admission. Take the Trentham Fairy Trail to enter the prize draw to win an Annual Ticket! Share your fairy pics with us via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, remembering the #trenthamgardens.
