Journey to Self-Love Boudoir Session

Today we’re featuring Amanda, a busy mama and professional who loves spending time at the beach and with her family. “I’m a certified pharmacy technician by day, softball/football mom by night, and a wedding officiant/notary public in my spare time.” Amanda booked a boudoir session as a gift to herself, to celebrate her body after beginning her weight loss journey!

Amanda met us in the South Jersey boudoir photography studio the morning of her session and jumped right into two hours of pampering with one of our amazing artists, Jeannine. Amanda wanted a sexy and classy vibe for her session, and she felt confident we got it right. “[Jeannine] was so down to earth and sweet. She took the time to ask me what kind of look I was going for and what my style was, and she nailed it. She is very talented!”

After hair and makeup, it was time for Amanda to slip into her first look. She brought three outfits for her boudoir session: a red lace bodysuit (Shein), black lace bralette and panties (Shein), and a green bra and panties set from the House of Rowan boutique.

While Amanda found her confidence once she was in front of the camera, she admitted to feeling a little nervous leading up to her big day.

“I had bariatric surgery about a year ago, and I have lost almost 100pounds in a year. Most people would think that I would feel much more confident about my body now that I weigh less, but I actually have more insecurities because of my hanging skin. I was really nervous about how it would look in the photos and I told Adrian about it prior. She reassured me that my body is beautiful just the way it is. She put on some music and coached me through my session, and I honestly forgot about my skin, and I just had fun.”

Boudoir is all about self-love, and finding the courage and confidence to love your body as it is, right now.

As for her favorite part of the session, Amanda said it was nice to have a day all about her! “Just being in the moment, having fun, and having a few hours that were all about ME.”

For anyone considering a boudoir session of their own, Amanda says don’t be afraid to try something new.

“DO IT! Invest in yourself! Have fun and try something new. I promise it’s worth it. My boudoir experience was wonderful. Adrian was so professional and fun! She made me feel confident and beautiful at a time when I really wasn’t feeling myself so much.”

Amanda, thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your journey. It was an honor to have you in the studio!
