50 Shades of Nope

Or better yet, 50 Shades of No Consent and why I don’t promote THAT BOOK or themed 50 shades sessions.

Let me start by saying: if you’ve read the book, never been exposed to some of the concepts of BDSM, and felt drawn to them… No shade to you. Welcome to k!nk, happy to have you here on this thrilling and exciting new journey.

But let’s talk informed consent, boundaries, and safety. That book does not represent these topics well (if at all) which is why I don’t condone, support, participate in, or advertise sessions that are 50 Shades of Nope.

If you’re venturing into the world of bondage, dominance, sadism, and masochism: safe, sane, and consensual are THE top priorities. Always. Full stop.

Just because you’re entering a D/s (Dominant/submissive) dynamic doesn’t mean you don’t have a say in what happens. It’s actually quite the opposite, the submissive holds all the power because it’s their boundaries that should always be top of mind for the Dominant partner. YOUR boundaries should be thoroughly discussed beforehand and respected at all times. You both should be well informed of intentions and outcomes. There should be no question about safety or consent, ever.

Communication is key to having a healthy dynamic between any partner dynamic, but even more so with a D/s dynamic. If your partner is unwilling to communicate and agree to ground rules before entering a D/s situation, RUN!

And if you encounter someone promoting 50 Shades of Anything, it’s highly likely they aren’t educated about the subject matter and are only trying capitalize off on the popularity of the book for a quick buck. That’s not an environment that respects the D/s dynamic or promotes the informed exploration of your interests.

My work is about empowering all humans to embrace their sexuality (however they define it) in a safe, educated space that is free of judgment. I’m here for the romantic, the casual, or the extreme sides of boudoir sessions. I respect your values, your limits, and your input on how you want your session to proceed. I have an in person consultation with EVERY client before their session to find out what they want from their session and to go over what to expect during a session so you are informed every step of the way.

I strongly encourage all my clients to advocate for themselves and communicate with me about their level of comfort, and will frequently check in throughout the process and throughout each session to ensure you are comfortable.

All of my clients have expressed how comfortable they are during a session, how easy and relaxed the atmosphere is. One client said, “I never feel a power imbalance in the studio, even with more spicy stuff, because you remember to check in about limitations, clearly communicate, ask consent if you’ve gotta adjust straps or anything near ‘bits,’ etc.”

Boudoir is what YOU want, it’s about bringing out your inner confidence and building it up. During a boudoir session, YOU are in charge of what happens and what doesn’t happen. It’s all about YOU and I’m here to create glorious art that empowers you.
