2019 Year in Review

new jersey boudoir photography

This year was a great year! I had so many wonderful clients for boudoir sessions, a bunch of great events, a new office space, several educational events, and a pregnancy!

I am so thankful to all of you who chose to work with me. I know choosing a boudoir photographer can be a difficult choice, there are so many questions… Are they qualified? Will the photographer create a great experience? Will they create a comfortable and safe space? Do they offer quality products?

I can assure you I certainly offer all of the above and will continue to do so. You can read more about my 15+ career as a photographer here and read REAL client testimonials here. Even when I spent half of this year pregnant, all of my clients can vouch that I was still demonstrating poses and doing everything I normally do. Though… I did look like an upside-down turtle on occasion and may have needed help getting out of the poses lol.

To all of you who chose to work with me, I am so incredibly grateful. And to those of you still deliberating, please feel free to reach out at any time with questions! And join our VIP group, House of Rowan, to see the behind the scenes, meet new people, get first access to specials, and join in all the fun our group offers!

All of the boudoir images shared are shared WITH full permission. I actually have a ton more client photos, but I always always always respect the wishes of clients and only share when they feel comfortable to do so.

February was our Love Yourself event at the Guitar Guild in Palmyra, NJ. We had makeup lessons by Kayla, tarot card readings by Henry, and massages from Kristin.

March was our Candlelit Yoga event with Yogatree in Riverton, NJ. It was a relaxing event, lit by candlelight and led by Sara Collingsru. It was a perfect, calming Saturday evening.

In June, I attended Camp Do More which is a boudoir photographers’ retreat in Halifax, Canada. Sixteen+ hours of travel, 4.5 days in a log cabin in the remote, Canadian wilderness, 5 intense classes, 3 shootouts, and 1 close encounter with a deer later I was completely exhausted. It was a short excursion, but immersive and really affected my work and business in such a positive way. It was really great to meet a ton of photographers whose work I admire (such as Teri Hofford, Rob Woodcox, Jessica Rae, Taylor Oakes, and more) and some incredible models who helped me improve my work (Pix, Storm, Julianne, Noel, Rob, Taylor, Cassie…) Thank you all so much for challenging me and showing me new ways to approach boudoir!

We had a joint event, La Petite Mort, with Just Bella and Skintegrity Spa in Downtown Haddonfield, NJ. There were lots of goodies, spa offerings, and Just Bella’s beautiful accessories adorning the shop.

August was our brunch at 5 West Pub. It was a great Sunday afternoon meeting new friends and eating delicious food!

In September, I made a day trip up to New York City for another Do More Photographers’ adventure. This time I was pregnant and knew I couldn’t take as many classes, so I attended one shootout sponsored by the Boudoir Album and one class with Teri Hofford. And then went sightseeing with Pix in the city the next day.

In October, I opened a new space in Haddonfield, New Jersey. We had a great open house reception, thank you to everyone who attended! And I finally got the fern wall I have been obsessing over!

And our last event of the year was in December, Winter Holiday Extravaganza. We had a great raffle with fun prizes and a portion of the proceeds went to Women Against Abuse.

And to end a wonderful year, my friends and family threw an amazing baby shower! Technically it was in January, but there was so much hard work and love poured into this event it definitely deserves a mention. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard and for the overwhelming amount of people who came to the shower!

Photos below are before guests arrive to show the insanely beautiful decorating.

A huge thank you to these ladies ( my cousins and best friend who’s been around since our days in the military). They coordinated, cooked, cleaned, and flew in from 3 different states! You’re the best!

This year was a really great year. Thank you to everyone who was part of my business and personal journey this year and to those just joining, welcome and I cannot wait to meet you!
