Boudoir with a Marathon Star

new jersey boudoir photography

Today’s boudoir blog features Becky. Running is her main hobby right now – she’s completed two full marathons and a number of half marathons in the past few years. She also enjoys singing/dancing and has done community theater.

Becky booked a session as a gift for her husband but she also said “while it also makes a very good gift for my husband, I mostly wanted to do it for myself. I’ve fought body issues my whole adult life and wanted to do something that would make me feel confident and sexy.”

We love working with women to help them feel like the vixens they are! And Becky was an absolute dream to work with! We had such a fun time during her boudoir session and she was open to every pose!

We met at the South Jersey studio for her session. She chose the studio because she said loved the look of the studio, it makes for a great backdrop.

Her hair and makeup were done by Casey of I Do Hair and Makeup, who always does a fantastic job, but don’t take my word for it!

Becky said Casey was “was wonderful – so sweet and easy to talk to, the perfect person to hang out with before a session like this. I loved how she did my hair and makeup. I don’t usually do a ton and had never even worn false eyelashes before, but she made everything look natural and beautiful.”

And this is why we love working with Casey! It is so important to create a fun and relaxing environment before a boudoir session. It really helps prepare our clients mentally and being pampered is always a benefit!

Once Becky was finished getting pampered, we started her boudoir session. She brought two beautiful outfits and was kind enough to provide the links for them!

Becky said she wanted her session to reflect her. Something sexy without being super over the top. And she said it absolutely did! We definitely agree!

We ask every client about how they felt before and during their experience and Becky shared:

I had a lot of nerves going into it, but once I was there I felt so welcomed and comfortable. I was worried I wouldn’t know “what to do” but Adrian helped direct me and put me into positions that would be flattering. I had a blast just taking the photos and was very happy with the results!

I was most nervous about the poses. I’ve worked with other (non boudoir) photographers before and have had people who just tell you to stand/sit in a general area but not give you too much to work off of. Adrian positioned everything, demonstrated poses (even at about 8 months pregnant!!), and set things up perfectly.

Becky said her favorite part of the boudoir session was when she put the first outfit on and saw herself with her hair and makeup done, she felt SO beautiful. And then just taking the photos with Adrian was fun, she’s so sweet and funny!

We asked if she had any advice for people considering a boudoir session and she said:

Don’t just look it as a ‘photo shoot’ but a whole experience for yourself. Have fun shopping for outfits and planning beforehand, pamper yourself with the hair and makeup, and enjoy the actual photo experience too!

Thank you so much Becky! We can’t wait to work with you again!
