A Boudoir Session to Welcome What Lies Ahead

Today we bring you Tricky, an artist by trade and avid lover of cosplay, who puts her little family at the heart of everything she does. Tricky came to us for a boudoir session to celebrate and embrace the current version of herself; and to “welcome what lies ahead.”

Tricky met us in the South Jersey photography studio and jumped right into hair and makeup with Jeannine. She says she felt Jeannine did a wonderful job making sure the look was exactly what Tricky wanted. “She was so nice and talkative. Asked me often about what I liked or preferred. The whole thing [was] like hanging out with friends.”

While she wasn’t sure what vibe she was looking for in her boudoir session, Tricky did know she wanted to see herself as “decadent and gorgeous.” “[We] definitely pulled that off. The photos are like art.” Our clients aren’t obligated to bring a specific theme to their boudoir session; the experience itself should be relaxing, empowering, and fun. A theme can be as specific as a romantic Renaissance love story with all things lace or as simple as sexy and tasteful in black lingerie. It’s our job to ensure it all falls into place!

Tricky brought two bra and panty sets from Target for her boudoir session, and a black lace robe purchased from Amazon. When asked how she felt leading up to the big day, Tricky admits she was a little nervous.

“I feel a little old sometimes and had occasional thoughts of what are you thinking?! Once we got started laughing and chatting the nerves faded and it [felt like] hanging with a friend.”

Boudoir is for every body, regardless of age, sex, size, etc. Our goal is to remind every client that they are worthy of feeling sexy and powerful.

For anyone needing advice on what to do leading up to their own boudoir session, Tricky offers these three tips: “Wear something you feel great in. Get a good sleep the night before. Do some simple stretching before you arrive.”

Tricky says she picked Adrian Rowan Photography because she felt our work stands apart from other boudoir photos she has seen. “I’ve seen a lot of boudoir that just looks like women in their underwear. House of Rowan looks like art. The color and lighting are ethereal.”

Tricky, thank you so much for trusting us with your gorgeous boudoir session. It was an honor to have you in our studio!
