ANYONE! If you’re wondering whether a boudoir session is for you… STOP wondering because it absolutely is!
The clients I work with are everyday women with careers, families, partners, kids, busy lives… Basically, they have a million things to focus on and sometimes they forgot to make themselves a priority. Sometimes we need a break, a day away from it all. A day to reconnect with ourselves. A boudoir session is a day of pampering and not worrying.
And I always hear “But I’m not a model!” You don’t have to be! Check out some of our past clients everyday looks and their boudoir looks below. They slay everyday and boudoir gives them a chance to try a new look while being pampered to the fullest!
What is boudoir?
So glad you asked!
Formally defined, boudoir photography is a photographic style featuring intimate, sensual, romantic, and sometimes erotic images of its subjects in a photographic studio, bedroom or private dressing room environment.
But let me tell you IT IS SO MUCH MORE here at Adrian Rowan Photography!
Having the confidence to embrace sexuality has always been a huge part of my life and encouraging others to explore and accept their own interests is important to me.
My work focuses on promoting confidence and empowerment through sexuality, however my clients define the word.
Whether you’re into the romantic implied style with lingerie, sultry looks and covered bits, or you’re into a bit of light bondage and rope, or more extreme interests… Whatever level of sexuality you’re comfortable expressing, working with me provides a judgment free space in which to experiment and express yourself.
Boudoir is really all about empowerment and most of my clients leave with a renewed feeling of confidence, body positivity, and self love.
What is a boudoir session like?
Its is a self love experience full of pampering and time to focus on you! The step by step process can be found here.
CONSULTATION
We start with an in person consultation. This is when we get to know each other better. We’ll meet to plan your boudoir session and go over all the details to prepare — location, outfits, style, and hair and makeup. We’ll plan and design your session so it’s customized to your personality and preferences.
PREP
You’ll also receive a self care gift bag (read all about it here!). And tons of prep emails and details before your session, trust me, we have your back and you will be prepared!
HAIR AND MAKEUP
Part of the boudoir and self love experience is a bit of pampering! Hair and makeup are included as a way to relax before your session. Our professional artist creates looks that enhance your natural features, never change them.
THE BOUDOIR SESSION
A boudoir session lasts about 3 hours, including time for hair and makeup. We’ll meet at the location you chose and begin your session. I’ll help feel comfortable in front of the camera and be yourself! And don’t worry about posing, I’ll guide you through the poses and even demonstrate them myself (which gets all of my clients laughing).
REVEAL AND ORDER APPOINTMENT
Rather than be overwhelmed by an online gallery full of hundreds of images to scroll through (and then be unsure of what and how to order), we’ll schedule an appointment to choose your images together.
I’ll curate the best images for you to view and select from.
There will be samples of the luxury albums, wall art, and prints on hand for you to see and feel. I’ll help you order exactly what you want so it’s all taken care of.
CUSTOM MADE PRODUCTS
Generally within 5-6 weeks, your custom products will be ready.
Once your items are ready, I personally hand-inspect each piece and wrap them in boutique packaging.
When should you schedule a boudoir session?
We tend to book very quickly, so as soon as possible is the best answer!
A general timeline is to schedule your session at least two months in advance if you’re planning to gift your images.
We are currently booked until November 2019, but we sometimes announce last minute openings in our Ladies’ VIP Group.
Where should you have a boudoir session?
We have sessions EVERYWHERE in the New Jersey and Pennsylvania region and have even done sessions in Spain, Canada, Florida, Maryland, and New York City!
During your consultation we discuss your session details, but we have done outdoor and indoor sessions as well as some very unique locations.
