Quirky and Fun Boudoir

Rebecca came in for a session recently and we had a wonderful time. After our session she shared a bit about her experience.

This blog is in Rebecca’s words and from her point of view:

[Hi! I’m Rebecca.] My friend, Brooke, nominated me for a complimentary boudoir session and I won!!

At first, I did this session because I didn’t want to let my friend down after she put in the effort to nominate me.

Then, I wanted to do this for my husband. We will be married for 10 years in June and I thought it would be a great anniversary gift.

But, honestly, after I saw the pictures I realized this was exactly what I didn’t know I needed. I have two small children, a full time job, and a myriad of responsibilities, and lots of stress. It was a gift to take time to see myself from a different lens. (See what I did there?) I never have thought of myself as beautiful and somehow this woman in the photographs was exactly who I’ve always wanted to be.

I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say I was nervous about everything. Adrian created a Pinterest board where I could see her ideas and post my own. That helped me to get her advice without bombarding her email. However, when I did have a direct question, she was quick to respond.

I bought a black bodysuit from Amazon and I also wore a white button down shirt from my husband’s closet paired with silly underwear.

We held the session at Adrian’s studio because it was easiest 🙂

Kayla from Level Up Makeup did my hair and make up. She was amazing! She made me look beautiful! She also made me laugh and relax before the session.

I was going for a “cross my fingers that my c-section pudge, double chin, jiggly thighs  and floppy boobs don’t show” vibe!!  Adrian totally pulled it off! Kayla really made me glow!

Throughout the session, Adrian helped me relax and I became more and more comfortable with my body. It was just plain fun! In addition,  Adrian modeled all of the poses for me during the boudoir session.  That was so helpful and put me at ease!

Each part of the experience was better than I had imagined. Adrian took her time to make me comfortable at every step.  Her ease put me at ease. As a woman who hates putting on a bathing suit, this was a personal challenge for me.  I think every woman should have this empowering experience.

My best advice is to book the boudoir session! You will never feel ready. You will always want to lose more baby weight, tone and tighten, or find extra time to get ready. Do the session.

Thank you so much Rebecca! Kayla and I are so grateful you chose to do a boudoir session with us and you enjoyed it so much. This is one of the many reasons I love photographing boudoir: it can be so invigorating and such a wonderfully positive boost. Thank you for trusting us with creating this journey for you!
