Today we’re featuring Andrea, a baker and bookworm who admits she was a ball of nerves when she booked her boudoir session at our South Jersey Boudoir Photography studio. But with the right outfit and some encouragement along the way, Andrea absolutely nailed her session with complete confidence.
Andrea came to her session with no set idea how she wanted her boudoir photographs to look; “I don’t know if I had a specific vibe in mind going in. I just wanted to not make a fool out of myself. I wanted to look like a goddess and Adrian definitely did that.”
The morning started out as all our boudoir sessions do: with lots of pampering! Andrea slipped into the hair and makeup chair, and into the careful hands of Kayla. “Kayla did my hair and makeup. I love how everything looked; she did an amazing job. She listened to everything we talked about in the consultation and her suggestions were great.”
Once Andrea was glammed up, it was time to step into her first outfit. For her boudoir session, Andrea brought a black lace set from Adore Me and a red collar set from Shein. She looked amazing in both pieces and offered this advice for anyone considering their own session: “Bring something you feel sexy and beautiful in to help calm your nerves. Then maybe try something a little out of your usual comfort zone.”
While Andrea was a little nervous getting in front of the camera, she found she was able to quickly relax and enjoy herself. “I hardly slept the night before I was so nervous. I kept imagining myself not being able to do the poses or looking awkward. Adrian was so easy to work with, you forget that you’re half naked.”
One of the most rewarding parts as a boudoir photographer is witnessing clients have that a-hamoment, where they see themselves in a light they never have before.
“This was an anniversary gift for my husband. But I think it turned into a gift for me too. I didn’t realize how negative my image of myself had become until I saw the pictures. I had a ‘is that really me?’ moment. The session gave me a confidence boost I didn’t know I needed.”
While Andrea could have chosen any boudoir photographer, we are honored she chose Adrian Rowan Photography. “I’ve been a member of the Facebook [VIP] group for a while. I love Adrian’s work.”
