Today we’re featuring Kate, MUA/hair stylist and dog trainer! Kate came to our South Jersey photography studio for the perfect reason: herself. After having her daughter and celebrating a milestone 30th birthday, Kate thought a boudoir session would be the perfect opportunity to celebrate her body, and we couldn’t agree more.
Kate met us in the studio the morning of her session and hopped right into pampering with Kayla. When asked, Kate said she absolutely loved her look. “She highlighted my natural features in a way that resembled how I would do my own hair and makeup and truly made me feel beautiful.”
Kate brought a few different outfit options for her boudoir session, including a Phillies baseball jersey paired with red lace underwear, and a pair of ripped American Eagle jeans. We love working fun, sexy pieces into our clients’ boudoir photos! A pair of unbuttoned jeans or a partner’s jersey paired with lingerie bottoms bring a personalized edge to any session.
Kate tells us comfortable and sexy was her main vibe for her boudoir session, and she feels her photos reflect that. “Adrian worked with the outfits I felt most comfortable with perfectly and captured the confidence each one gave me. I’m a tomboy, so the comfy/sexy vibe was spot on.” Kate admits she was nervous about how her body would look in her photos but said once she was in front of the camera, her fears melted away. “I’m very self-conscious of my belly post baby, and Adrian worked with me and captured angles that made me appreciate my body even more. I’ve never considered myself someone who can pull off “sexy”, but I felt so comfortable by the end of the session.”
Our clients come to us for many different reasons, but one central goal rings true for every one of our boudoir sessions: helping our clients feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera and behind the scenes. Boudoir is about celebrating your unique body and carrying that confident feeling over into the real world.
Of her overall boudoir experience, Kate says she loved every moment. “[I felt] incredible. Adrian made me feel so comfortable, I had so much fun with my shoot, and it really made me see a better side of myself. It was relaxed and comfortable and like I’d known her for years.”
Kate’s word of advice for anyone on the fence about booking their own boudoir session: Go for it.
“DO IT. Take the plunge. I’m so incredibly happy that I did. Find things that make you feel comfortable AND beautiful. Sexy and comfy are not mutually exclusive! Don’t be afraid to be yourself.”
