Today we bring you Julie, an avid gamer, traveler, artist, and history buff who loves watching movies and listening to her favorite tunes. Julie booked her boudoir session as a gift to herself and her fiancé, but also to push herself out of her comfort zone, something she tries to make time for often!
Julie met us in the South Jersey photography studio on the morning of her session and hopped right into hair and makeup with Jeanine. Julie was hoping for a sexy, nerdy vibe for her boudoir shoot and felt Jeanine hit the nail on the head. “[Jeanine] did a wonderful job. She convinced me to try false eyelashes, which I had never tried before and they definitely enhanced my look, just as she said they would! I’m kind of a make-up newbie after years of going make-up free, but Jeanine is a pro. I felt the most gorgeous that I’ve ever felt.”
After two hours of pampering, it was time for Julie to slip into her first outfit. Julie brought a few sexy looks for her boudoir session, including a Star Wars tee to hit on the “nerd” vibes. “The Bodysuit, Chemise, and Kimono were all bought from Torrid. The Star Wars: Return of the Jedi t-shirt was bought from Hot Topic.”
When asked if she was nervous leading up to her session, Julie admitted it was the consultation she was nervous about, not the session! “Actually, I was more nervous before the consult with Adrian. Once I met her all my nervousness went out the window. Adrian is so easy going and chill that I felt comfortable with her immediately – it was like chatting with an old friend.”
Julie told us posing for the photos was hands down her favorite part of her shoot. “Adrian kept me laughing throughout the entire session. And if I felt even a little bit anxious or self-conscious, she always knew what to say to ease my mind.”
For anyone considering a boudoir session of their own, Julie says you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
“If you’ve ever doubted that you were ‘pretty enough’ for a photo session – don’t! I honestly never thought I’d do anything even remotely close to a Boudoir photo session, especially as a plus sized woman. I’ve always been self-conscious about how I look; however, my photos are amazing. And yours will be too!”
