Powerful Boudoir Session

new jersey boudoir photography

We had Mary in for her boudoir session in the beginning of the year, before COVID struck. We have not been able to have her in to review her photos until recently, and she was SO patient with the delays! Thank you again, Mary!

As always, we had a wonderful time working with Mary and we got some amazing boudoir images during her session!

We asked Mary to share a bit about her experience and here is what she had to say:

“I’ve barely had professional portraits done, just a few sessions at Sears or similar studios.  I’m not a shy person but I was definitely nervous as I walked in the door but you both (Adrian and Kayla) were so very friendly and fun and this (boudoir session) was ever so much more than I expected!”

About her boudoir outfits:

“I ordered a few pieces of lingerie from Amazon – it has to be green!!!”

Mary did bring a few choices in varying shades of beautiful greens and they complimented her auburn hair PERFECTLY!

On why she chose to do a boudoir session:

“I was really looking to find a way to love myself, to be comfortable with my body and to embrace my whole self.  I don’t think I am fully there yet but the end results, the portraits, these gorgeous shots definitely helped me see myself in a en entirely new perspective.  I’ve always been a sexual being, passionate, physical and believe myself to be powerful, but I don’t believe I ever saw the beauty in all of that before.

This was an impulse decision, another step deeper into my cliche` of getting over an 8 year relationship.  I got ghosted, ended the relationship, went to the gym, lost weight, developed muscles, opted to push for surgery to address decades-long menstrual issues and this was another step back up to my true self and my own power.”

YASSSSSSS! I am so glad we helped you on this journey! Boudoir photography is really such a wonderful way to self actualize!

On her favorite part of her boudoir session:

“Sincerely I enjoyed exploring and experiencing your spaces and all the surprise touches you include but I really, really enjoyed looking at the photographs.”

And, we always ask our clients if they have advice for anyone considering a boudoir session. Seriously, we ask everyone and we don’t suggest what they should say, the advice is REAL words directly from clients. Mary said:

“Take a deep breath, set aside ‘expectations’ and remember if you’ve never done this before, you have no idea what ‘should’ or ‘should not’ happen, how you should feel or how you will look.  Be open.  Trust Adrian, trust her expertise and expertise.  Be willing to see yourself in new ways.”

I really love hearing tips and advice clients have to share, they are a little bit different. Thank you so much for your kind words, Mary and thank you again for trusting me with your boudoir session! You are a powerful woman and I am grateful I was able to give you a visual reminder of your power!
